Wood is a natural material and will wear and age with time. All wood I use has been kiln dried to ensure that it is as stable as possible. Humidity and temperature where the piece will live can change the look of the wood, which includes warping, cracking, movement, and discoloration. This is considered normal and a part of the wood’s natural aging process.

In cases where furniture will be placed outside, I will apply a finish appropriate for the elements. Over time the wood will need to be refinished or maintained to ensure long life and to keep it looking best. I will gladly make recommendations on optional finishes and proper long-term care.

Please keep this natural aging process in mind as you create the vision of your custom piece.

For custom pieces I will happily refinish them for FREE if the customer pays shipping to and from my location.

Serving trays and boards

NONE of the items sold as trays or boards are food safe unless specifically indicated in the product listing. Food should NEVER be served directly off the tray or board. They should also NEVER be used as a cutting board. Servers should also be kept away from extreme heat and care should be taken to buffer them if serving hot items.

Wood Finishes

I use a variety of finishes depending on the intended use and desired look. Each of these finishes requires a different level of maintenance. I include instructions for long term care with each piece. Should you be interested in further information on how to maintain your piece, please contact me.
